IN FOSTER IN PETERSFIELD

Poor little Lady has had a rotten life.  Neglected and abused by her original owner, she was subsequently rehomed twice before coming to us.  Naturally her past has left its mark and she will need a special understanding home that is able to work with her under our guidance.  We dont know her exact parentage, but we believe she may be a collie x spaniel – she is around the size of a springer.

Lady is happiest with young adults – she is wary of children and older people, especially ladies.  She is also anxious about strangers coming into her home, and becomes over protective of her space and her carers.  She forms bonds very fast and is incredibly loving but this can get her into trouble as she will guard those she cares about.  Luckily she is very food motivated and we’re working with her to help her overcome her anxieties.

Lady is extremely clever and learns very fast.  She is wary of strangers on the street, but has learned already to sit quietly with her foster carer and ignore things that worry her.  She is wary of strange places but soon relaxes – she is learning to enjoy life again.

In the home, Lady is as good as gold – she loves cuddles and playing with soft squeaky toys; she is clean and non destructive and can be left quite happily for reasonable periods of time.   She gets on well with the other dogs in her foster home, although she does try to hump them which doesnt always go down well – this is anxiety and not a dominant behaviour.  She ignores cats.

This lovely girl has come so far in such a short space of time, we know that in the right hands with someone able and willing to help her progress she will shine.

Adoption donation is £225, homechecks apply, and you’ll need to be able to meet her in her foster home.
