IN FOSTER NEAR ANDOVER
Chico has lived a life where he was much loved, but treated rather like a child substitute rather than being allowed to be a dog. As a result he isn’t a typical Lhasa in many ways. He is very nervous, and is afraid of other dogs, cats, men, and loud noises. He is beginning to settle with us and understand that nobody here is going to hurt him and there is nothing he needs to fear. He isnt a snappy dog at all, and will retreat every time. This poor boy cowers and shakes, and flinches when touched unless he can see your hand.
Chico now enjoys his walks – provided its not raining! He may not have the Lhasa confidence, but he has full measure of his breeds stubborn-ness – if you ask him to walk in the rain he’ll lay down flat and refuse to move! He’d also rather starve himself than eat food he doesnt like.
Chico absolutely adores children, and his trust issues vanish when he’s with a child. His best friend is the young girl in his foster home – he will do anything for her.
Chico’s ideal home would be where he could be the only pet in the home, with someone who has the time and patience to teach him to trust again and help him to regain his lost confidence. Ideally there will either be gentle, dog savvy children in the home, or visiting children.
If you think you could give Chico the home that he so badly needs, please fill in the form below. Homecheck and £225 adoption fee applies, and you’ll need to be able to visit him in his foster home.
